Jonathan, I love seeing your personality emerge more and more each day. Like when I was trying to teach you how to say your age. I'd ask, "How old are you?" You'd say, "Seventeen!" even though you can't count that high yet. And you'd keep saying it when asked again because everyone thought it was so funny.
I love when you pray. It goes something like this: "Dear God, dadmeshrilesmey ata fleshisn...amen amen." Yes, two amens. Every now and then I also catch you saying, "baby Mommy tummy" somewhere in there. So I know you're listening.
You have to be the best little brother in the world. You put up with a lot of bossing around, very lovingly. James is lucky to have someone looking up to him who adores him so much.
I know you'll be a great big brother too. You're so gentle and loving towards everyone. You might be a little jealous at first because you love your Mommy time...but you'll fall in love with your sister so quick - you'll forget about it.
You have the focus and passion of someone twice your age! That's saying a lot when you're two. I'll always remember how you can sit and color, or play with cars or trains, or work on a little puzzle, for long stretches of time. And you know your letters, numbers, shapes, and colors like a champ. I may be biased, but I think you're a genius.
They call this stage the "terrible twos" and I know you'll have your moments of complete meltdown. I'll let them slide because the truth is I still have them too.
Besides, whatever "they" call it, I love every moment. I'm so lucky to be your Mama.
Happy birthday!

I've never thought the twos were terrible. I love, love, love a child that age. They seem to change and learn new things by the day, and they are so stinkin' cute.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Jonathan!
It's true, I'm having so much fun.
DeleteI loved the twos with Jeremiah as well. So fun! They are still so innocent and learning so much!
